Wendell cannot help but bring a smile to the face of everyone that encounters him. I am not sure if it’s his big smile or bright eyes but his face exudes a positive energy that is infectious. It must be the joy in his heart that keeps him looking so young since you would never believe he was 52! He has found the perfect profession to take advantage of his positive disposition.
As front house manager for the members only Center Club in downtown Baltimore Wendell’s job is to make sure that the members and their guests have a flawless dining experience. In this position he can use his excellent interpersonal and communication abilities as well as his strong leadership and organizational skills. Wendell manages a staff of 60 and does the scheduling, budgeting, organizing of events, as well as welcoming members and overseeing the service that is provided to the 85 to 100 diners at the club. It is not surprising to hear that he has a degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management or to hear that he has won awards for his management style.
Although born in the Philippines his father’s work as a civil engineer prompted the family to relocate to Madrid when Wendell was seven. This is why Wendell, who considers himself a European and a Spaniard, tries to return home to Spain twice a year. The other members of his family are equally accomplished-his mother is an English teacher; one sister is an accountant, and his middle sister has a PhD in child psychology. Wendell is fluent in Spanish, English and Tagolog (the language of the Philippines).
A resident of Hampton Plaza for three years, we are so happy to have him with us. His buoyant personality is a great addition to our community.
